![]() Debian sarge is now officially frozen. This great news and a long time coming. The new Debian project leader, appointed a few weeks back, promised his number one goal was to get Sarge out. Looks like he is keeping his promise. For us Ubuntu fans this is great news as well. Hopefully, this gets out in time so that the next Ubuntu release (about 5 months from now) can be based on it. Here is the estimated timeline for the release: 3rd May : Freeze time and security support now available for testing 5-8th May: BSP to bring bug count down from ~85 to ~60/70 15th May : Debian installer finalised 27th May : Zarro RC boogs 30th May : Release (As long as they get all the bugs worked out) |
